Exciting Improvements to Maldon, Witham and Tollesbury Area Bus Services

We’re making changes to your local bus services in and around Maldon, Witham and Tollesbury from Sunday 28th July, designed to make your journeys simpler, more reliable, and better connected than ever.

Here’s what’s changing

More reliable services for Maldon, Tollesbury and Witham
From 28th July, there will be changes to routes 91, 92, 95/95A, D1 and D2. These improvements include additional running time to better reflect actual traffic conditions, helping to ensure a more reliable service.

Route 91 (Witham – Tollesbury): All buses will remain on Church Road in Tiptree. Maldon Road and Station Road, currently served by occasional journeys, will no longer be served.

Route 92 (Tollesbury – Colchester): To help ease ongoing congestion at The Square in Tollesbury, timetables have been revised to minimise waiting times at stops, allowing traffic to flow more freely.

Route 95/95A (Tollesbury – Maldon): All 95/95A journeys towards Tollesbury will now depart Maldon town centre from the Swan Hotel bus stop. On Saturdays, buses will no longer operate beyond Maldon town centre to Morrisons.

Routes D1/D2: The first D1, the last D1 and the last D2 services towards Maldon on Mondays to Saturdays will no longer divert to serve Morrisons. On Saturdays, the 13:58 departure from Maldon will not serve Morrisons either. Passengers should use the stops on the main road instead.

New, Route 99
From 28th July, we are introducing a new Route 99 service between Maldon and Broomfield Hospital. Two journeys per day will operate in each direction. This service is delivered by Konectbus on behalf of Essex County Council.

Withdrawn
From 2nd September, Route 70, which operates between Marks Tey and Colchester City Centre, will be withdrawn due to very low passenger numbers. We thank all those who have travelled with us on this route. For alternative travel options, please visit [insert website link].
