Thomas Gainsborough High School Careers Fair

7 months ago Wed 22nd Oct 2025

On Tuesday the 21st of October Josh and Ella from the TMS Marketing team attended the Thomas Gainsborough High School Careers fair, where over 700 year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students were able to interact with employers and further education institutions from the surrounding areas.

This gave students an opportunity to talk with different industries, find out more about the career options that are available to them and discuss routes into these jobs with the higher education institutes

The students (and some teachers) enjoyed using the jobs board to learn about the different careers that are within the bus industry. The students even had the opportunity to win a free family day ticket if they could guess Josh or Ella’s jobs with only asking 2 questions. Everyone was shocked to see over 30 different careers make up the bus industry.

The team at TMS are dedicated to changing the stereotype that the bus industry is only bus drivers and engineers and is only open to middle aged males.

“Although we deeply value our male colleagues in the engineering and traffic teams, we are dedicated to showing that the doors to the bus industry is open to everyone! This starts with making sure younger people see role models and people that they can see themselves in within the bus industry. A bus company runs like any other professional business, we have finance teams, a training school, a marketing team and so much more that goes on behind the scenes that are paramount to keeping the company (and buses) running!” – Ella Ramsey, Marketing Executive
